  Tribute to the greatest powerlifting coach ever. It has been a few days since the passing of in my opinion the greatest powerlifting coach ever Louie Simmons. I had to think of what I am going to write before doing so. The content of my article has to be informative also and should resemble what Louie stood for namely exercise, training the body and getting stronger and more capable in the sport you want to specialize in.  The great Louie Simmons from Westside barbell in Columbus Ohio ( Picture from t - nation.com). Louie was born in 1947. He started his journey as a powerlifter in California but eventually moved over to Columbus Ohio. In 1987 he started the Westside barbell in Columbus Ohio. Where once it was in California it is now in Ohio. The original brainchild concept was from California but it grew into what it is today in Columbus Ohio. Venomous animals.

  All across our planet there are creatures with venom. The obvious ones would be spiders and snakes but if one really starts to investigate this phenomena of venom, then one starts to see that there are so many animal species who are venomous that it is quite surprising. Venom is more frequent then thought of. First let us understand what the difference is between venom and poison. Venom is usually delivered into the blood stream through a sharp object. It can be a spine, venom fang, stinger, or even nettle cells which are microscopic little harpoons that is activated during touch and can deliver venom. So for venom to be delivered, the skin must be broken and the venom must get into the wound. Unlike with poison where poison can be taken orally. As soon as the poison gets to the stomach it can be absorbed through the stomach lining and get into the bloodstream. Venom will be destroyed by the organisms digestive juices. Flat earth

  So there are people in the world who believe that the earth is flat, not round. This flat earth movement is becoming more and more prominent as time goes by ( Any case just my own subjective observation). So what is wrong with a flat earth or let me rather say how does it make no sense given certain critical questions being asked? I have thought about this and here are a few questions that cannot address the phenomena we see in nature if it is excepted that earth is flat. 1. How does a flat earth explain seasons? In other words why is it summer time in the Northern hemisphere and at the same time, winter time in the Southern hemisphere and the opposite holds true when the Northern Hemisphere has it's winter time while the Southern hemisphere has it's summer time? Not getting stuck on the bench press.

 Yes all of us who have been at the gym have gotten stuck on the bench press at some point in time. The story goes as follows you begin with 12 reps on the bench, you then proceed to do 10 reps on your next set, then 8 reps and then that last set. You aim for 6 reps but you only manage 4 or 5. You get stuck under the weight and somebody has to come and save you. Humiliation! And the possibility of severe injury. So you rather skip the exercise out of fear of it happening again. You rather do the seated chest press machine or bench press machine rather than getting stuck again. Well is there a hack to help with this one? Or is risking getting stuck on the bench on some puny weight (That some only warm up with) even the risk? I will discuss a way or two to pass this burden on yourself by training smart and training carefully yet effective enough to make progress.
